Screwdriver. The tool, not the band.
Well I truly fudged the bucket this time and “took one for the blog”.
I was working at Broome Cycles, adjusting the spring adjustment screws (pictured here) with a little too much; how you say; “gusto” when the thing housing the screw snapped and the screwdriver followed its natural course into the palm of my hand which was naturally behind the weak screw. If you know whay I mean.
Went to emergency as I was advised by a certain Lukman that i’d need a tetris injection or something and I received said tetris injection.
That was all cool, while my hand soaked in a foamy warm dish of water, until she pulled out a syringe without the needle (pictured here), filled it with Betadine (pictured here), stuck it inside the hole in my hand and pumped the whole syringe full of the shit (not pictured) into my hand. I mean.. -into- my hand.
I’ve felt some decent pain. Granted, I haven’t pushed a baby out of my vagina or had one cut out of my stomach, Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection before, but I’ve felt nipple piercings and tattoo’s before and this topped the lot. Jesus H Christ in a chicken basket. It was deep enough that the betadine swelled up on the other side of my hand before it drained away out the hole in my palm. Nearly dropped me, I had that good old woozy feeling you get when you feel that kinda shit going on with your highly self-esteemed-self.
Now you’re all probably thinking “cool, Muzza always forgets to bring his pictures to the library so I won’t feel compelled to click the pictures to get detailed visual images of the carnage. Well fuck you buddy! I remembered them today. Have at them you squeemish ass-ticklers. (pictured here) (LOL AT THAT PICTURE YES? LOOK AT THE GLEE ON THE JAPANESE FELLA OFF THE PORT BOW!)

Well that, as they say, is that. Well not really. That was tuesday, and it’s now thursday and the swelling is slowly starting to subside and I’m slowly getting feeling back to my palm and my finger can move a little more. Hopefully won’t have any nerve or tendon damage but by the way it feels, I’ll be genuinly impressed if it heals back to the way it was.
