Shinju Safari and New BMX (photos)

Phooo-WHEEE! Am I knackered, but out of my love, I’m writing you a blog post, cos you’re all just so special. Infact, I’m sitting in bed with Rose sound asleep next to me. She’s lying on her back so that means if we’re lucky, she might start snoring and if so, I’ll get her on video and post it here. Start praying to the god of snore people.
Got the new laptop arriving this weekend. Very exciting, Very exciting.
The Shinzu Festival
I think, this means Festival of the Pearl in Japanese. So named from the strong Japanese influence here in the Pearling industry which I piss my pants with excitement when I think of how awesome pearling is. Oops, sorry. Just lied to everyone reading this. But I digress….[...]
Arguably the main event of this Shinzu Festival is the float parade which has about 30 float entries and this year, as with the last 3.4 billion years, Broome Cycles has a float. Their angle is the Gibb River Road ride which they, and the local boys in blue-ish raised $1.5 Billion dollars for charity. (read $120,000)

Was pretty damn fun and marked the last day I could stand not having a bmx up here so onto my next topic.
Haro ‘09 Backtrail X1
Finally got myself a fag-handler (freestyle bmx bike). Rose said last night, as I was moping around with fuck all to do, that I get a BMX bike like I’ve wanted and I damn well obliged today with getting a frigging awesome deal on one of the new Haro models in the shop.
The photo doesn’t show one tenth of how fluro this bike is. You can guage it by how saturated the colour looks on the bike frame in the photo. Imagine the brightest 1980’s nose-zinc you’ve ever seen, now paint a BMX in that colour, cranks and all and you’ve got my bike. It’s seriously offensive.
It’s going to be many hours down the skate park learning how to grind and re-learning how to bunnyhop and all those skills my brain has almost forgotten and archived.
Keely Update
Dunno, haven’t heard from him lol. He’s probably spraying weeds atm and will be on track for leaving in a couple weeks.
