Rose and Sam's Excellent Adventure

I sound my barbaric LOL over the rooftops of the world.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello Hello.

Well we are in the middle of Tet (Chinese New Year) at the moment so there are lots of celebrations going on around town. We thought we would high-tail it outta here this week, but can’t get our Vietnam visa’s till next week because of Tet. So we are heading down south as I keep mentioning – but we have actually bought tickets this time so we are definitely going on Thursday.

Our visa’s for Cambodia run out next Friday so we have to be out by then!

we have had a swell time today, spent the morning at the Green Mango restaurant, they have wi-fi there so Sam went on the net and I read- Catch 22 for those that are playing at home- just lazed around. A guy on a bike with a bunch of mangoes came round- I bought 2 for $1!

Then while we were walking home we passed a massage parlour and thought why not?  1 hour foot massage, $5. Delicious! It was wonderful, they poked and prodded at my feet till they felt like water. Sam was not such a fan, I think his exact words were: “That was like a few moments of bliss in an hour of pain.” He looked stoic through the whole thing though, I thought he was enjoying it, but apparently he was entering a zen like state to get away from the pain.

It was a nice change of pace from the city dump, and the killing fields. Sam has written about both so I’ll just say that feeding the kids at the dump was an overall positive thing, Sam got some great pics. I was sitting in the truck gathering a food portion which was 2 baby bananas, 1 apple, 1 orange and 1 baguettes, and then handing to the guy who was passing it to the kids. We handed out over 400 baguettes. and about 850 bananas. It was crazy. Anyway met some other really nice volunteers that were doing it. Hopefully we can catch up with them in Vietnam.

Also- total side note Lily and Kyle are starring in a short film together, can’t wait to see it. Lil is also in a couple others that are being filmed round the place. Also everyone Lily is in Frankenstein at the Blue room sometime in March so go see it, and tell me about it. I’ll post dates later for you.

See ya/love ya gotta go eat a mango

Rose.
