Hot ‘n’ humid.
Hello Dear Ones.
I am back, better than ever, the bug has left the building (or the body if you prefer.)
Couple of things to report.
The other day I was crossing the street (always a dangerous enterprise) when this older woman grabbed my hand and wrapped it around her daughters (the girl was about 4 or 5 ) so that the little girl was in between us. She said something very urgently in Vietnamese which I took to mean, “hold my daughters hand and don’t let her be run over.” Totally surprised I did as I was told. After we crossed the street the woman took my hand off her daughters and hurried away. See you later alligator.
We have been super lazy lately, when I was sick I was up pretty much all night and sleeping alot during the days, until it seems that Sam’s and my sleeping patterns have reversed themselves, we can’t get up before 12 noon, and it’s hard to get to sleep before 3am. But we are working on it. So hopefully things will be back to normal in the near future.
Because of our crazy sleeping schedule we are also eating at funny times, It’s 5.25 and we just finished lunch, now for lunch I ordered spaghetti Neopolitan. (Keep in mind we go to this restaurant Sa-Sa’s nearly every day.) A young waiter brings me what is clearly Carbonara, with big bits of ham on it. I smile, apologize and say “no thank you I ordered Neopolitana. He looks at me and says that this is neopolitana. He then walks away gets another waiter who speaks better English and the process repeats itself, only I say “No cream, I want tomato please” and the guy says with a straight faced, “yes this is tomato,” while pointing at the cream! I am at a loss, how do you argue with that?Anyway all sorted out delightfully. and Lunch/dinner was delicious.
I would at this time just like to point out that the computer I am on is crazy and keeps covering up half of what I am writing, so I kind of have to guess it. If something doen’t make sense this is why.
ANNOCEMENT
Katie and Tom had a baby! This news is a little delayed but Chelsea was born on Monday 9th February at 6.30pm QLD time. Mum and Baby are fine.
I will give you more details when I have them.
We checked out the Fine Arts Museum today, which is in this wicked 3 story building. Sam thinks that it was haunted but I think that is just because we watched a Ghost Hunters show the other night. But who knows?
We leave Saigon on monday. Very exciting! Onwards to the coast. Then upwards to Hanoi! People wanting to learn English here we come.
Tam Biet (goodbye)

Always lovely to have a post but particuilarly one without acronyms or profanities. That’s my girl! And absolutely no more ice in drinks til you’re back in a land where they flush the toilet with drinking water, shameful though it is.
Nah, bring back the acronyms and profanities I say ;-) Motorbike madness and hanoi hookers. No nepotism in this request of course….
The ying, and the fucking yang. I love it.
