Skype people, Skype!
I don’t think I made it as obvious as it needed to be earlier.
Install Skype, you mangy bottles of pond scum!
You’ll need a microphone (any $10 mic from an electronic store will do) and as an added optional extra, if you wanna get visual, use your digital camera as a webcam, or buy a webcam.
I’d normally say “Let’s just use MSN to video chat” but it’s acting screwy for me atm, and Skype handles lag better.
Mums, It’s very easy. It works on Mac, Linux and Windows.

You can also use it to make cheap international calls, but that’s a bit crazy for Mums so let’s just keep it simple eh? Forget that and let’s use the free functions.
Email me your contact name, once you’ve created it during the installation process, and we can chat, face to face. Sounds good? Good. Let’s make it happen! *clap* *clap*
Sam, as much as you think we Mothers are TOTAL technophobes, my dinosaur mac system won’t support skype, or I would have already installed it.

I don’t believe you. Skype was around before your OS was released I’m sure, and there’s gotta be a workaround if it wasn’t!
What OSX version are you using? I’ll look into it.

I think you need 10.3.9 and above.
Believe me my son, fruit of my loins. I have 10.2
If I installed Skype at work I would be drummed out of the service!
