Rose and Sam's Excellent Adventure

I sound my barbaric LOL over the rooftops of the world.

Fun, fun, fun in Hanoi

Hey People!

Hope all is well, we have had marvellous news of some of you coming to visit- very excited.

Looks like; Lily in June, Chris end of July, The Murray-Fenton’s and Mum August/Septemberish and Nerissa October/November. Bron was going to visit but accidentally bought a ticket to Europe instead (silly girl).

If anyone else is interested would love to see you!

And if you do come and visit I promise days like the one we had today…

Lovely breakfast on a hip and happening hotel balcony. Followed by a relaxing couple of hours, then off to the Lakeside restaurant (I think it is actually called Happy House or something- but it is on the lake and should be called Lakeside), watching lovely Vietnamese people  paddling swan-paddle boats around the lake.

After delicious food and with supreme will- I went without one of their suburb cakes -  we went off to the Army museum.

It’s been a while since we were at a museum, so it was fun to be touristy for a day, they had some crazy plane wrecks, lots of brutal weapons and numerous Uncle Ho pictures and statues.

After that we went across the road to Lenin Park, and they had all these kid electric cars, that all these 3-6 year olds were driving around, or being remote controlled by their parents around the park. One very bossy girl was getting mad at everyone in her way, and started telling them off.

Then we came home and I just cooked up a black bean and rice dish. Sam is very apprehensive! Tell you how it goes.

Love Rose

(hope to see you soon!)

Commenting on when I might be coming to Hanoi while I am in Java having an Absolutely Fabulous time berberhasa Indonesia in Yogyakarta I love the Asian madness plus getting everything cooked for you and your laundry done isn’t bad either. Just off the top of my kepala or head as the english say, I’m thinking something like maybe arrive Hanoi Friday 10th August and leave Tuesday 21st August- but for dates to work I’d like the 2 weeks before I arrive to be clear of visitors so there’s a break for Sam and Rose and so I get a really enthusiastic reception! I would actually prefer Friday 3rd August until Tuesday 14th August but that might be a bit close to Chris’ visit. Also what dates aren’t going to crowd the Murray-Fentons? Or is it just me and my over developed tendency to coordinate? Comments please from would-be visitors!

    Mars,

It’s quite likely I’ll be hopping over the border from the 28th of July until the 8th of August, whether I’m coming back to Vietnam or straight back to Aus at the end of that is still the subject of some calendar juggling. I know that’s not a lot of help as is, I’ll post again when my tix are booked (should be this week).

and if i could get some sense out of the chief of the fenton clan, aka buffy, i would be able to comment. But she has a new puppy in her life. Perhaps sam you can send her some local recipes!

Marsbar, you just cant control peoples’ minds via the calendar. I am sure my boy will be excited to see you no matter the proximity of your arrival to the departure of others ;-)

but i take your clue and will try to arrive a fortnight before or after you…though i reckon an overlap with you could be serious fun! stay tuned….
