Kancho: The Real Arc of Instability.
Today, I finally learned the inconvenient truth that there’s nothing more unsettling than a 6 y/old’s wirey, Vietnamese fingers up your bunghole when you’re not expecting it.
If you’re unsure, exactly, what the art of Kancho is, visit this link which is the Google Image Search for “Kancho”.
I copped it sweet, and Phuket Thailand, did I straighten up! He’s going on my list, but I don’t think I can ever truly repay that act of kancho so let’s move on.
I completed my first Saturday’s teaching, which is by far my biggest day. Instead of one or two 1.5 hour classes, I have 3 external classes which go for 2 hours. Which, because of the lesson prep, meant an 11 hour day but it was really great. I’m getting a feel for the curriculum set-up and my lesson prep is getting much faster. I have a bit of a repertoire of games at my disposal which you can pull out of your butt any time to flesh out a lesson or pick up the pace.
I’ve uploaded a bunch of photos to our flickr account. Either follow the links from the photos link in the top navbar or to go straight to the sets, here they are.

Also, photos of our Halong Bay trip are up, visit the Halong Bay photo set here. I’ll write it up sometime soon, but hopefully Rose will, she’s getting into the blogging swing of things recently so make sure you read her post below, and keep an eye out on the “recent posts” widget to the right.
Julia, if you’re reading this, hope all is going well with the new bubby and good luck Jane!
I’m off to bed,
Good night!
